The family's 1930s beach house living room was paneled in solid redwood. When they decided to tear the old house down and build a bigger, better one in its place, they saved the redwood in stacks in the garage. Matt took that redwood to his shop in downtown LA and fashioned these new cabinets by hand, then added a custom photo-collage backsplash of some of the family's favorite old pictures, reprinted in sepia on fine art paper protected behind glass.
